Veterinary Technician

Dunya was introduced to the clinic by bringing her family dogs as patients, and then asked to start volunteering! She was officially hired in the spring of 2016 as a kennel assistant and worked off and on for several years based on her school schedule. In the summer of 2020, she stepped up and worked full-time at reception. She missed working with the animals and began training in the back as a veterinary assistant, and has been sharpening her technician skills ever since!

Dunya was born and raised in Fairbanks, and was in the local nutcracker for 7 years and even starred as the lead role in 2016! These days, she keeps herself busy going to UAF full-time while working at Chena and Lars. She also spends time ski-joring with her collies, running, skiing, climbing, mountain biking, and hiking!

Dunya's bright, young and loving nature has always been a welcome presence at the clinic. We greatly appreciate her willingness, flexibility and energy whenever she is at the clinic, and look forward to her progress both professionally and among the community!
